Students' indecent attire can tarnish school's image

I refer to the report 'No shorts, no dyed hair, no slippers...' on the dress code crackdown at a private school here.

I believe the move by the Management Development Institute of Singapore (MDIS) is justified, as the students' indecent attire can tarnish the image of this leading private educational institution.

Such problems are not confined to the MDIS; other educational institutions also face the same problem, as well as that of students smoking on or around school premises.

The Ministry of Education should step in to enforce proper dress code and behaviour in all educational institutions, regardless of whether they are private or government schools.

Singapore's reputation as an education hub can be undermined if these students do not dress or behave properly.
